A snake in human’s clothing.
Playtonic Games introduced the newest character in the upcoming 3D-platformer Yooka-Laylee today –– he’s a snake wearing a pair of trousers, and his name is Trowzer.
Trowzer will serve as a support character to Yooka and Laylee, the titular protagonists, by teaching them new abilities as they progress through the game. Playtonic describes him as “smug serpent salesman” with a “downbeat appearance and 1980s mobile phone.”
Fans of Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie might be reminded of Bottles and Jamjars, the mole brothers who served similar support roles in the N64 platforming titles –– Playtonic itself is composed of developers who worked on both, as well as Donkey Kong Country on SNES.
